About
About us
channeltunnel.net is an independent information site for the Eurotunnel Le Shuttle car train. Le Shuttle runs through the Channel Tunnel between Folkestone in England and Calais in France. Drivers load their car, motorhome or motorbike onto the shuttle and stay with the vehicle for the crossing. The connection is operated by Eurotunnel Le Shuttle.
Because the shuttle takes 35 minutes and runs around the clock, the decisions that matter to a driver are made on land, not at sea. Which departure window to book, how much time the terminal at Calais-Coquelles or Folkestone wants before it, what the fare covers once a vehicle is longer or taller than a car, and whether saving the hours a ferry costs is worth the difference in price. We set out the timetable, the fares, the layout of both terminals and that comparison with the sea crossing, for cars, motorhomes and motorbikes alike.
What this site is not
channeltunnel.net is an independent guide. We are not the official website of Eurotunnel Le Shuttle. We are not an England travel guide and not a hotel portal: sightseeing beyond the crossing, other Channel routes as a separate product and hotel booking deliberately stay out of scope. We do not sell tickets ourselves; bookings are completed directly with Eurotunnel Le Shuttle, where their current prices, availability and terms apply.
